Day 47 - Morning Announcements!!!

Graphics 1 - Today I will quiz you on the tools we have learned so far.  You are required to CROP, MAKE SELECTIONS, COPY/PASTE, CLONE/STAMP, COLOR REPLACE, and BRUSH.  We took a picture of a 2011 Phantom and manipulated it in PHOTOSHOP.  The end result was posted to your BLOG.

Multimedia 1 - By the end of class, you must turn in your CONCEPTS for the 30 SECOND COMMERCIAL.

Multimedia 1 - Today, we will record your NEWSCASTS into iMovie.  Then import the footage into Final Cut Pro.  I will show you how to enter TEXT into your videos today.

Day 43 - SkillsUSA trip cancelled due to snow!

Graphics 1 - Your MOVIE POSTERs are DUE TODAY.  If you are not done, still post what you have on your blog.  In the subject line write "IN PROGRESS."  Of you are done, call it "MOVIE POSTER."

Multimedia 1 - Today I will go over the second part of FINAL CUT PRO basics.  I will go over the SELECTION tool and the RAZOR tool.  I will show you how to adjust the speed of a clip and how to overlay multiple clips using IMAGE/WIREFRAME.

Graphics 2 - Make sure you have turned in your WPA paper.  Any email contact between you and your client needs to be forwarded to me.  You can start working on your LOGO in Illustrator.

Multimedia 2 - Today you will have a quiz.  After the quiz you can work on any editing you need to do.  REMEMBER: You have Morning Announcement videos due Tuesday, so any filming you have to do is due MONDAY.

Multimedia 1 - Today I will go over the basics of FINAL CUT PRO.  I will show you how to clear your Preferences.  Then, we will go over the basic interface: The Timeline, The Shelf, The Preview, & The Canvas.  We will practice importing media.

Graphics 2 - Today, I will go over the CLIENT EMAIL handout.  Make sure you do not put the bulk of your research on your client.  Research the questions yourself.  The few that you cannot answer can be included in your EMAIL.  Make sure you forward a copy of the email to me.  Your papers are DUE.

Multimedia 1 - Today we will do the REVOLVING STORYLINE.  You will be given a prompt to respond to with a video in iMovie.  Then you will rotate seats and record the next prompt response on another person's computer.  You will do this roughly 5 times.  Then, your job is to return to your original computer and edit all 5 prompts into a cohesive video.  This includes photos, music, and type.

Multimedia 2 - DEFINE: INCITING INCIDENT, CLIMAX, RESOLUTION on your blog.  Today, we will go over the 3 act structure.  I will give example of movies and how they fit into the 3 act structure.  Your 3 minute video that introduces your character must adhere to this.  Tomorrow we will write your scripts.

Day 25 - Create a character, Rocket, Etc.

Graphics 1 - Finish up your ILLUSTRATIONS.  They are due on your blog by Wednesday.  If you are ahead of the class, you may start he next project: ROCKET.

Multimedia 1 - Today we will finish up the iMovie demo including TRANSITIONS, PICTURES, and TYPE.

Graphics 2 - Finish Presenting.  Your Layouts are due WEDNESDAY.  If you are done, start researching for your next project: An Influential Person.

Multimedia 2 - Today we will create a character.  Choose a name and age for your character.  Then give me their FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY, THEIR WORST FEAR, A BOOK/HERO, LIKE/HATE SCHOOL, and a COMPANION based on one of the latter choices you made.

Day 24 - New stuff starting!

Graphics 1 - Today we will present your BLOGS to the class.  Make sure you have everything posted.  Finish up your ILLUSTRATIONS.  They are due on your blog by Wednesday.  I will come around and do grade updates. 

Multimedia 1 - TERMS: PRODUCER, TESTIMONY, SOUNDTRACK.  Today we will go over iMOVIE.  We will look at how to import and export footage and file permissions.

Graphics 2 - TERMS: LAYOUT, FONT, UNITY.  Finish Presenting.  Your Layouts are due WEDNESDAY.  If you are done, start researching for your next project: An Influential Person.

Multimedia 2 - Print out your NEW CONCEPTS for the upcoming ANNOUNCEMENTS.  Think of a character you want to show.  How can you represent your character without any words,

Day 23 - Morning Announcements!

Graphics 1 - Work on your ILLUSTRATIONS using Adobe Illustrator.  Remember, to use 3 tones per color;  a highlight, base tone, & shadow.  Draw in complete shapes.

Multimedia 1 - Finish recording your newscasts in GARAGEBAND.  Keep it around 15 seconds.  You must have 5-6 pictures that relate to your story, and some background music.  When you finish, go to SHARE > EXPORT TO DISK. Call the file {your name} Newscast 2.

Graphics 2 - Finish up your TYPE spreads.  We will continue presenting them in class.

Multimedia 2 - We will air the morning announcements and take notes on the pluses and minuses.  Turn your notes in for points.  We will brainstorm ideas for the next session.

 

Day 22 - Sorry guys, I'm sick...

Graphics 1 - Today I will demo the MAGIC MARBLE.  Your illustration must have 3 tones for every color; a base color, a highlight, and a shadow.  USE COMPLETE SHAPES.

Multimedia 1 - Today we will use GARAGEBAND to record an audio NEWSCAST with pictures and at least a weblink.

Graphics 2 - Today we will continue presenting your TYPE LAYOUTS in class.

Multimedia 2 - Your video packages must be ready for viewing by WED.  Martynas must have all your footage.

Mr. Nanda is at the SchoolFusion training @ the District Office for the morning.  Will return for AFTER LUNCH classes.

Graphics 1 - Work on rendering your scanned drawing in ILLUSTRATOR.

Multimedia 1 - Make sure you have your GARAGEBAND slideshow posted to your blog and put in my DROPBOX.  You have a NEWS CONCEPT due today.  Use the internet to research a news story and put it in the proper format.  Focus Statement, Lead, Focus, Support, Elaborate, Comparison, Reaction.

Graphics 2 - Work on your TYPE SPREADS.

Multimedia 2 - Edit you footage for this weeks broadcast.  You must have footage today for 30 points.

Graphics 1 - Today you need to bring a sketch to scan into Illustrator.

Multimedia 1 - Finish up your SLIDESHOW today.  I will give you some time to upload it on Monday, but it needs to be finished by then.

Graphics 2 - Work on your 2 page spreads.

Multimedia 2 - Last chance to get a camera for the weekend.  You MUST have footage for MONDAY or you will lose points!
